Another Card down!

Did I mention that my work peeps think it's the greatest thing since Doughnut Wednesday that I'll make and deliver cards to work for them? I had NO IDEA that people would be so thrilled about this idea. My "scrap" book of scraps is dwindling and I'm getting to try new things and not just have pieces laying around. I found some 4inch copper squares at Joanns last week and since everything else in my cart was on sale, I used my coupon on these. It's Creative Metal by Walnut Hollow. They have other colors as well but the copper was my fav (and the most expensive of course) so that's what I picked. It worked out wonderfully in my Alterations dies. The four inch square was not big enough to get a birdcage out of, but worked great for the bird. I also used the Ornate just the edge die and so here are those cards:
The paper used is Making Memories Vintage Findings I believe the pattern is Wallpaper. Flower from Petaloo (this was in a free gift pack from Archivers for being one of the first 50 shoppers on a big make and take weekend earlier this year.) The Petaloo flower is similar to a Prima in that it does not come sticky...you will NEED GLUE DOTS! (nothing holds them better!) The bird is cut from the copper mentioned earlier. The blue border is not a punch, it's a doodlebug trim from a variety pack. The rick rack is from my stash. The brown paper was a free pack of Bazzill with however many dollar purchase from Archiver's. My Vintage Findings and Doodlebug goodies came from my lss Eclectica who I LOVE!!! And the Birdcage die came from the Paula Dean of Scrapbooking herself...Sudie Alexander from Unkit.

The polka dot paper is the "b" side of the Wallpaper from Vintage Findings collection. The Mother Stamp is from 7 gypsies. The ribbon is unlabeled but may be from the Vintage Findings collection as well (I just ordered two yards to be cut at my lss but I know there was a familiar label on it.) I did actually tie the ribbon all the way around the card and the knot is secured with Mini Glue Dots to keep it secure...love my Glue Dots! The cuts are both edges from the Ornate just the edge die...oh and the brown paper is Bazzill (also from a free gift pack from Archivers). I did use my Tim Holtz texture hammer (the little lines end) to give the copper some texture and I actually did this LIVE on VOKLE while at the UnKit Book Nook show this past Monday. If you don't normally watch UnKit on Mondays, you should it's too much fun!!!

Basic Grey...SEW Cute!!!

I fell in love with this Maya Road chipboard dressform and just had to have one to decorate myself.

Forgive the mirror image view, it's the quickest way to shoot a video and my video camera needs to be charged...

Anyway I'm listing this mini at my Etsy so feel free to check it out. I have loads of stuff in the works and thanks so much for stopping by!

Cards Ahoy!

This is my favorite card! I love the new Thrift Shop Paper from October Afternoon. This was made as a Mother's Day card for one of my co-workers who is newly married and her mother-n-law is a seamstress. (She has even been published in Sew Beautiful...AHHHHHH)

Cake everywhere!!

Wow... I just have to say that each day that goes by I love my cricut more and more! I made a bunch of Mother's Day Cards and took them to work...sold them all asap and got requests for more! I could hardly believe it!!! Wish I'd taken pics of the first batch, but I'll def take pics of the next one...some B'day card requests were made as well so I'll have some goals to complete this weekend. I also want to get another youtube vid finished and I should have time for that as well. This has been an exciting week all around!!

I won the new Birthday Cake cartridge from Everyday Cricut I really enjoy their daily tutorials and seeing the actual cuts from mostly carts I don't have. I am even more exicited about the cart I won because we went to the circus last week and I was lamenting not having a circus tent minibook or one that I could cut with my bug....WHA LA or "ask and you shall receive" because lo and behold there's the cutest little circus tent on there!!! So now I'm stalking my mailbox!

I also discovered the Cuttlebug Challenge blog. I don't have the Cuttlebug, but I love their embossing folders! I run mine through my Big Shot (side note DH just noticed my Big Shot this week, asked me what it did and commented on the amount of stuff I have LOL). Anyway they are giving away a Cake! So if you want it, drop on by here, if you don't want it, sign up and my b'day is in May...I'll take it :)

Sharing is scary...in your pj's!!!

Oh I have to tell you. I know most of you (or several of you anyway) know I am obsessed with UnKit Live every Monday night. The past few weeks, the after party has been at Vokle and lemme tell you it is uber cool! I'm gonna have to try and find out how to not feel so unfamiliar with it (read this as learn to use it...LOL). I've been sharing projects at the after party and it's really fun...I still need to work out that stage left from actual left with the camera but woo hoo...I did it!
I also think the best part is since I watch UnKit in my pj's usually then that's what everyone sees LOL...but the projects are cool anyways :). I need to finish and do a vid on the project I showed last night. I'll work on that today and Wednesday because the book has to go back to the scrapstore to be shown off again on Thursday (I promised a friend she could see it).

Monkey Baldinger

After many sad trials and tribulations my co-worker Robin finally achieved her goal of becoming pregnant! The parents are so happy with their little Monkey and Brandon Baldinger will be here before we know it! I wanted to do something a little special and as she doesn't scrap very much (she made on album several years ago and that's it). I decided to give her a nudge to the scrappy side with a LO of her sonogram photos featuring some fantastic Bungle Jungle and some Cricut Cuts from Plantin Schoolbook. Almost all of these things are held with glue dots for dimension or mini glue dots (see the ribbon vine!) I think this LO is so bright and beautiful...and I really love it! There is a "hidden" tag for journalling behind the top photo for any special message from the parents to Brandon. Right now this LO is hanging in the Nursery which is an honor to me!
