Mother's Day Card 2015

I made a couple of Mother's Day Cards this year, one for my own mother, and one for my Mother-in-Law. I like them both, and they are very different. I used one of the sketches from the NSD activities over at the SpiegelMomScraps Facebook Page for the first card.

The Sequins, White Tag, Ribbon and twine all came from SpiegelMomScraps Shop, That hi clip I made myself using a stamp and die set from Waffle Flower. I LOVE how this turned out. 

This second card I think is LOVELY! I used a 3x4 card from Pinkfresh Studios. Stickers from October Afternoon that I have had for well over a year. Those cork butterflies, the gingham ribbon and the gold foil doily are all from SpiegelMomScraps Shop. I knew I wanted to use one of those 3x4 cards, I'm trying so hard not to be a hoarder, The background paper was a scrap that was just that size, it was slightly longer than my card base so I picked up the first edge punch that I found and it took off a fantastic amount. I decided I liked the way it looked right on top of the white card base and then I used some things on my desk to embellish. I really like the way this card turned out ad it was so quick and simple. Those cork butterflies are self adhesive and I'm loving both them and the hearts from SMS!

Catching up 5-6

I am so sorry to everyone that I wasn't able to participate in the 2015 NSD events. I hadn't scheduled my post to go up for the blog hop, and I had to leave town because my father was very ill. He passed away on May1. I had several projects ready to share with you for the weekend and I'll be sharing those starting today.

This was my take on the sketch you can find at the SpiegelMomScraps facebook page, I really enjoyed using this sketch created by my fellow Sparkler Kat Benjamin. Jody, the owner of SpiegelMomScraps posted this layout on fb the other day for me, but I wanted to make sure you saw it! It's made with the Pinkfresh Studo's Up in the Clouds collection, I also doodled around the edges of the black cardstock with a Sakura Gel Pen and I wanted to make sure it showed up in the photo, that's why you see the floor as well. That vellum is from Webster's pages and the cork, washi and gold doilies are from SpiegelMomScraps. I AM LOVING the cork shapes, I have more projects coming up featuring them. Not sure how many of you might recognize them, but there are some Sassafras Lass stickers on this layout, I dug into my secret stash, I'm trying hard not to be a hoarder.

April 2015 Pep Rally featuring Happy Everything!

This month was Clique Kit's birthday... they are ONE YEAR OLD!!! Fantastic! I have been a member since their very first kit and that is exciting for ME!!! I love being a part of Clique Kits, it's not just the kits, it's the support of the whole community. Our Facebook group is a fantastic place of inspiration and encouragement. This month's challenge was:

Celebration Month! This April, Clique Kits is celebrating our 1 year Anniversary. We are so excited that we have been able to share our passion for scrapbooking and build such a supportive international community. Show us a celebration of any kind for this month's Pep Rally- it could be a birthday, anniversary, wedding, reunion, or just an everyday party...you can either show us in a layout, make a card for any celebration, or  show us how you use your supplies for party decor-the sky's the limit! Even if you don't have anything celebration themed to scrap this month- feel free to share in the body of your post something you are celebrating in the month of April. 

This layout uses the kit, add ons from the kit (I had to have them all... almost this month) and two sheets of kraft cardstock and some gold Thickers, and some black and white heart washi from my stash. I rarely do a two page layout, but felt this had to be two pages. I love LOVE the touches of Webster's pages Vellum, I feel like there are such awesome touches of unexpected with the kits. I love those clay rainbows, I was determined to use them on a layout. The watercolor cardstock stickers are SO PRETTY and I outlined them with a Sakura Gel Pen to make them stand out a bit more. This layout is all about how I really started knitting this fall and decided to make all the Christmas gifts I wanted to give with my knitting. I think that is celebrating in two ways... celebrating a new hobby and Christmas! 

Everything in this kit just makes me smile! I love the content!! Those little pineapples with the hearts made me SMILE!! (Yes even made me want to use them!) Have fun seeing what everyone else has made. I am using "Everything is Awesome" as the soundtrack to this month's blog hop! Have fun!!!

I'm back... up and RUNNING!

The last couple of weeks have been really awkward, Macseen (my senior Macbook Pro) has been very sick. In the last year she has gotten a new harddrive, a new battery, new memory and finally a new charger. She has been up and down and up and down, and now finally seems to be doing well. It's been awkward trying to update everything on a borrowed machine, sometimes while I'm typing on the borrowed machine it would just skip over and start typing into a sentence that was finished. I'm not sure that makes sense, but I'm pretty sure it's just hand/finger placement but it made trying to blog VERY difficult. I've made a couple of videos and yesterday I went ahead and uploaded and released a video of my Clique Kit Agenda 2.0 kit. I've also gotten some happy mail that I'm going to be sharing with you and I'm so excited to let you know I have a giveaway coming up, so stay tuned!

Here's that Agenda video, it's a very quick on as so many people have already filmed this paper collection... it's AMAZING and I'm loving having a fancier planner... anyone want to see what I came from and what I've got going on now?

I have been eagerly awaiting the one year anniversary kit from Clique Kits, and I was not disappointed, I also got in my awesome Webster's Pages Planner and my Agenda kit which sold out but I had asked them not to ship it until my planner came in. This is a huge haul and I can't wait to get back into town to play with it all!
