June 2015 Pep Rally Featuring Dream Quest!

Welcome to the Pep Rally everyone! If you've come from Megan's blog, you are right on track, if you are just stopping by to see me, be sure and follow the blogroll below and comment on everyone's projects for your chance to win! The best part about being a member of the Clique is that EVERYONE who wants to can be a part of the monthly Pep Rally!!!!  This was our challenge this month:
The challenge:  Use three or more photos on your next project. We want to see lots of fun photos this month!
Based on this challenge, I decided to scrap some photos of my 20 year high school reunion (it was in 2013.) It fit my own criteria of using photos I've already printed or had printed to scrap, and I had three from the same event so I did it!
I really love how this layout came out, I used  those Mommey Lhey stamps from the Clique Kits store, (I stamped them with the Hero Arts Ombre Inks that I picked up there as well)the letters from the Pretty Little Studios selections from the store (I actually bought those to use in my planner, but the colors were WORKING with the kit, so... I just used them! Everything else came from the kit, I cut up the cut-apart sheet and used that awesome chalkboard of the USA and put a star on Alabama (because that's where I went to High School), I repeated the stars in two other clusters of  embellishments, I included one of those thick wood veneer pieces and (gasp!) I even cut apart the acrylic sheet of tags, ephemera that came with the kit so I could add some tags from it as well. The only thing I added from my stash was the white tag, I stamped the pink ombre ink on it and glued it to the clear tag to make my title stand out. Those flag shapes were stamped on a piece of white cardstock from my stash then added to the clusters, SIGH, Crate Paper just knows what it's doing with ephemera! I loved making this layout with the kit, but I can't wait to turn the rest of it into a travel minibook!

Life is Wonderful!

I had decided a while back that after I got married, I'd get a haircut. I have finally found someone that I trust to cut my hair, so I went a few months ago and I got a haircut that I love, I got some highlights that everyone else loves and I guess they look ok, I had to laugh when someone told me they looked "natural." I didn't really want to go get a haircut by myself, so Lila to the rescue! She got her nails done at the same time, and the ladies at the beauty shop treated her like a queen. I'm about ready to go back for a touchup! I loved using my April Happy Everything Clique Kit on this layout. That puffy star just makes me smile. This has to be my favorite kit so far, but I think I say that about every kit. It just goes to show that I chose the right kit club for me!
Most of this layout is PinkFresh Studios but I layered my photos from Persnickity Prints over some lovely printed Vellum from Webster's Pages, it was in the kit, and that puffy star was an add on. There are some gold rub-ons, diecuts, and enamel hearts and the background paper that are all PinkFresh Studios Up in the Clouds collection. I can't wait to see what Pinkfresh does next, I'm drooling over their May embellishment kit. I'm so glad to share this layout with you today! It's been a rough couple of months, My computer was dying most of April making online classes and blogging very difficult, then I lost my father this month. I've cleaned off a large enough section of my dining room table to start my scrap therapy and I can't wait to share the pages with you.

Punxsutawnty Pep Rally with Clique Kits!

Welcome to the Clique Kits Pep Rally for February 2015! This month's kit is called Punxsutawny and it is LOVELY!!Forgive my photos of my layouts, I'll try to get some better ones as soon as time and daylight permit.

This month's theme was Galentine's Day and I don't know a better time with my girlfriends than at a crop. My friends in Memphis get together all the time and crop, and in October of 2014 I flew back to crop with them! First time we had all gotten together in two years. It was such a special time!

I used the Punxsutawny Kit along with some Shimelle by American Crafts stickers and Rub ons I had been hoarding that I'd picked up in the Clique Kits store. I Used Peacock Feathers and a navy Jenny Bowlin ink for stamping and inking edges using some Elle's Studio Stamps I've picked up at the Clique Kits store as well. I love that Clique Kits stocks items that I want to use over and over again like stamps that work on layouts, cards and project life... and I think I'll be using some of these tiny stamps in my planner also! WOOT!!

I don't often do two page spreads, but felt this even deserved one. I Love using the same bits of paper on both layouts of a two page spread to tie them together visually. I may add some more journalling at a later date, but I have a few more pics of this event which I think will merit it's own pocket page to go with this one. Love and hugs and have fun at the Pep Rally, of course there is a giveaway so be sure and participate!

Hugs all!

Bootiful Girls

This kit made the most of my October kit Masquerade Ball from Clique Kits, I used a ton of the ephemera as layering pieces, some stickers, one of those awesome glittery hearts you could get as an add on and I even discovered that the Shimelle rub-ons in the store will stick to that lovely glittery heart!! I used one of the exclusive journalling cards for my journalling (weird, I know) and those stickers, I just couldn't get enough of those October afternoon stickers... I gave up on keeping them straight because that just wasn't important to me...

These were my pets in 2008. While the kitty Sayuri doesn't look thrilled, she actually liked wearing "clothes" perhaps shirts and things rather than this jingly jester collar... but they looked so cute together. I found my inspiration for the diagonal papers on the layout here at yt, but I also saw one of the CK designers got inspired with a similar layout from IG on yesterday's blog share.

Brave New World

Woo HOO! How is everybody feeling today??? I'm all excited and have my pom poms in the air!!! I really love this month's kit Field Trip and LOVE all the colors and patterns! Honestly this is a collection that would normally just get hoarded in my stash and I'm so glad I have so much inspiration and encouragement to USE this stuff!! It's way too pretty to stay hoarded up! Our theme this month is "Be Brave" I didn't have very long to think about what subject matter I would choose for that, I simply chose my move from Memphis, TN to Annandale, VA all by myself. Well I had friends that helped me pack up and get here but I am now 6 hours from my nearest relative and for someone who grew up in the rural south, that is kind of a big deal!
In my new attempts not to hoarder, I'm trying to go ahead and use multiple die cuts and ephemera on a layout. I love when someone else does it, and when I hold back, I just keep things in my stash that don't get used as often as I like. I used several exclusive printables that came with the kit, the tiny anchors from map paper, That AWESOME washi tape and my die cuts, I layered the letter stickers over some paper from the kit to help them show up better on the stripy background paper. I fussy cut several flowers from the papers and layered them around, that gold file folder contains a ton of journalling and the little chipboard globe is by fancy pants as are the chipboard buttons scattered around although they didn't come with the kit. LOVE the accent of those Studio Calico stars! I did edge almost everything with Black soot distress ink to kind of define edges a bit better. Here are some detail shots:

Here is the lineup... be sure to stop by everyone's blog... I hear there is a fantastic giveaway! Thanks for stopping by here!

Welcome to the April Pep Rally!

If you have come from Gina's blog as part of the Clique Kits April Pep Rally, then welcome to my little blog! If not, then why not go ahead and hop along, it's not too many and the  projects with inspire you to create! I am thrilled to be a part of the first official Clique Kits Pep Rally and this month's challenge was: Tell us something about yourself!

The photo is a recent "selfie" I took of myself after I got all dressed to go out dancing with the other silly people I work with. We all went out to a place called the Clarendon Ballroom and wound up staying out way later than I planned. SO MUCH FUN! I do like this selfie... and I don't think I take too many, it's nice to see the changes in how I look from time to time.

Items used in the layout are mostly from the debut kit from Clique Kits:  Debutante. The flair and printables on the page are EXCLUSIVE to Clique Kits! I am LOVING using those Amy Tangerine plus one papers, and of course those butterflies are from my most used Martha Stewart Punch! (Also I am so proud I used some of those Pinkfresh Studio wooden hearts, and didn't just hoard the lot of them!!) Thanks so much for looking and here is the blog roll:

More Rehoboth Beach

I still have beach photos and since I'm loving this March kit from Scrapbook circle right now for these beach photos from 2013, I've done another layout with this kit! It's really simple, and btw kits are so handy when you go over to a friend's house to crop! :)

This layout uses some Scrapbook Circle Exclusive flair along with Basic Grey papers, Crate Paper Journalling Card, Basic Grey Stickers and Elle's Studio Cut aparts. I used the hexagon stencil exclusive to the kit for some pops of orange. And there is my one photo of me at the beach! (whew, not too much skin, right?

Hugs and TFL!

Six Flags was Always Fun

I have been out of my normal home for the last couple of weeks and it's been different. I was mostly knitting, but Saturday I had to come by home to pick up my SCRAPBOOK Circle Kit for February! I love LOVE these kits! This month was full of Chickaniddy goodies along with some October Afternoon. and other lovely things... check them out!

I made a quick video to show you all the lovely goodies (I did pick up the add ons this month and that Metallic Paper from Chickaniddy is a MUST HAVE!!!).

Here is the first layout I've completed with the kit. It has yellow cardstock from the kit, my photo which is terrible but taken from the years before we had those flip around screens or cell phones for selfies... and the labels and layering pieces were cut from paper in the Chickaniddy Date Night 6x6 Paper Pad and there are some stickers from the Date Night Sticker sheet as well. The photo is framed with that AWESOME gold metallic paper!!! The Flair, Boca paper and chipboard numbers are from October Afternoon Daily Flash collection. It's a special layout because it's of a happy time before I was married, with the man who was to be my husband. I've been scrapping mostly sad memories about him in 2013, but when I saw this photo I was moved to scrap something happy... which I take as a very good sign.

This was Amazing

I  scrapping along this year, I have completed another layout using my December kit from Scrapbook Circle and am excited to share it with you.
This is a phone photo of the 2013 Christmas Tree at 30 Rock in NYC. LPapers used are from Elle's Studio, Glitz and Webster's pages. There are two exclusive to Scrapbook circle cards on the page, stamps from Basic Grey and  chipboard and buttons from Fancy Pants. That cream colored metal tag with a tree on it has been in my stash for years and is by Making Memories.

Thanks so much for stopping by to take a look.

Do You Realize?

I seriously love the Glitter Girl Video Series over at the TwoPeas youtube channel!
This week's episode #96, had a challenge that included using a sketch for a layout. I thought this sketch would be perfect for a layout about my going to see Flaming Lips this year with a friend of mine at the Merriweather Pavillion. All things I had never done before:
Gone to MD for a concert.
Gone to Merriweather Pavillion.
Seen the Flaming Lips live.

So much fun...

Here is the LO:

I combined Cut and Paste by Amy Tan with some Wild and Free by Glitz Design and Recorded by Allison Kreft, my fav new thing which is Glitter Tape by American Crafts and some REALLY OLD THICKERS that I am so excited to use. Some various sequins and Art Anthology Mists and boom, I'm done :). I did use a photo collage rather than two 4x6 photos as shown in the sketch and I did turn the sketch on it's side but I love all the movement and color, it really brings to mind everything that was happening on stage in the concert!

Thanks so much and I can't wait for you to see the projects I have in mind for this week.

Beautiful Living City

When I first started scrapbooking in 2008 I subbed to a kit club. It was called Bad Girls and it was completely AWESOME and inspiring. It really helped me learn to do whatever I want on a page or in a minibook because basically the designers there used anything they liked and found inspiring and the kits included found objects and antique ribbons, etc.... Fast forward through them shutting down and me moving and I finally decided I might like to try out another kit club. Mostly because sometimes you get things in kits you might not normally buy on their own and for the fab mix of products picked out for you to work together. Also sometimes I am crippled because I can't just buy every single thing I want right now! Um, and this helps :).
After googling kit clubs I found the October 2013 kit at Scrapbook Circle and signed up for a 2 month membership. My favortie thing right now is that I am CRUSHING this kit! I have made three layouts so far and have my fourth planned and I think after the fourth I will have just some bits and bobs to add to my stash, the papers in this kit were to die for. Here was my first and second... now for the third:

I used the sketch challenge from Scrapbook Circle for November for the creation of this LO. That rainbow paper from Glitz Design's Wild and free collection makes me so happy! There is journalling on the LO so don't think I skimped on you ;). I'm not sure I ever would have gotten any of those ADORABLE little Allison Kreft bags without getting them in the kit but I love how it looks peeking out from behind my freehand half circle. And I am loving those Canvas stickers from Pink Paislee.

What have you been making lately?
