Dig Daddy

This is actually the first layout I completed using the March Clique Kits J'adore kit! It's my Mother's Father and really I just sat down with the kit, and started cutting  up some of the papers to make the mini that I actually was inspired to make when I first saw the kit contents, and there was some watercolor paper laying out on the table and this story of my grandfather taking my cousin and I for ice cream (specifically chocolate dipped ice cream cones from the Dairy Queen) just came to mind, so I wrote it out, threw some gelato color on the page and texted my mom for a photo of my grandfather. I had some frames and these wood veneer people in an iris container leftover from previous Clique Kits (I throw my bits into a container together sometimes). Those stamped ice cream cones are from Lawn Fawn : Here's the Scoop They are stamped with Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment Ink ( I colored over the ice cream a bit with a brown marker trying to make the "dipped" part)
The cardstock was from my stash, but that background paper is my FAVORITE one from the kit, then I layered the add on papers from Bella Rouge under my photo. Those tones in the paper, I just love them for the  and those phrases from Cosmo Cricket, sigh... love those!

I'm noticing a trend for myself to just freehand cut my papers, I'm gonna see how this plays out, I'm just too impatient to pick things up off the trimmer to use it sometimes ;).

Moments

It's the weirdest thing how sometimes a kit just lets you know what you'll be scrapping with it. I knew as soon as I saw the J'adore kit that I wanted to make a mini book with it, and make a mini I have, I just haven't shared it yet. As I looked through the papers trying to decide what to use to make my mini, all of a sudden stories of my mother's parents kept coming to mind, I started writing them down and after ransacking all my old photos and not finding the photos I needed, I started texting to ask mom to PLEASE send me pics of her parents, she responded by texting some back and I was set... photos to go with my stories and precious memories logged!

The only items not from the March Kit are those diecut flowers and word and they are left over from my January Clique Kit. (The background cardstock is from my stash.) The Stamp is by Mama Elephant and I have to say it's in a set of stamps that can be used for ANYTHING! It's called Filigree.

This kit sold out at Clique Kits and let me tell you, that is FANTASTIC! They have so much support and lots of fun stuff is in the works! I can't wait for next month as they celebrate their first year! I've been a subscriber since the first kit and it just keeps getting better!

Punxsutawnty Pep Rally with Clique Kits!

Welcome to the Clique Kits Pep Rally for February 2015! This month's kit is called Punxsutawny and it is LOVELY!!Forgive my photos of my layouts, I'll try to get some better ones as soon as time and daylight permit.

This month's theme was Galentine's Day and I don't know a better time with my girlfriends than at a crop. My friends in Memphis get together all the time and crop, and in October of 2014 I flew back to crop with them! First time we had all gotten together in two years. It was such a special time!

I used the Punxsutawny Kit along with some Shimelle by American Crafts stickers and Rub ons I had been hoarding that I'd picked up in the Clique Kits store. I Used Peacock Feathers and a navy Jenny Bowlin ink for stamping and inking edges using some Elle's Studio Stamps I've picked up at the Clique Kits store as well. I love that Clique Kits stocks items that I want to use over and over again like stamps that work on layouts, cards and project life... and I think I'll be using some of these tiny stamps in my planner also! WOOT!!

I don't often do two page spreads, but felt this even deserved one. I Love using the same bits of paper on both layouts of a two page spread to tie them together visually. I may add some more journalling at a later date, but I have a few more pics of this event which I think will merit it's own pocket page to go with this one. Love and hugs and have fun at the Pep Rally, of course there is a giveaway so be sure and participate!

Hugs all!

Pocket Pages of NYC!

As a special treat, I got to see New York City all dressed up for Christmas in 2013. It was an amazing and exciting thing for me, girl from Clanton, Alabama (it's in the center of the state people). So I took MANY photos and decided that pocket scrapping was the way to get these photos and stories documented. Here are the pages I completed for NSD documenting this trip to New York. I have printed pictures for the start of another pocket page but haven't completed it yet.

I really wanted to show the spread together, so sorry about the glare on the left side. I used some precious hoarded Maggie Holmes paper... I ADORE that soft Bokeh look and it just said Christmas to me. I also have a little kraft banner sticker from Studio Calico and that 3x4 card is October Afternoon.
I went heavy on the journalling and light on the embellishing and I'm ok with that! I love that my whole playbill fits inside that pocket from WE R Memory Keepers!

What would Christmastime in New York be without store windows! I used my favorite Stamp from Stampendous and some copics to embellish my journalling, along with a copy of the "Yes Virginia there is a Santa Claus" article as the Macy's window was all about that story.
