March 2016 Pep Rally H*LL Yeah!

Welcome to my project for the 2016 Pep Rally for the March Kit Hell Yeah! If you were linking from the awesome blog of Hannah Lemieux then you've landed at the right place, if you were just checking to see what I was up to, then I have a surprise for you!

I am so happy to be sharing a project with you today! I took a bit of a break from blogging, but not from creating. Mostly I've been making cards this year and I'm so excited about the diecuts that came in this kit! They are EXCLUSIVE to Clique Kits (there are some available for purchase in the Clique Kits Store Here.)
The colors in this kit are so fresh they make my mouth water, and I loved the gold crepe paper so much! I've never seen any before and I was so happy I had enough to make this embellishment for my card!  This year I have some lovely things happening in my family circle and I'm so glad I can make cards to celebrate these events. I think my next project from this kit is going to be a mini album for a special baby that's on the way!

Here is my project for today:

Be sure to check out everyone's project! There will be a prize!!!

Bring on the Sparkle 2015!

Welcome to the Bring on the Sparkle Blog Hop!!! I'm so happy you could stop by! I've been Holiday Crafting like a crazy person, both paper crafting and knitting my brains out! I'm having a lovely time and I'd LOVE to show you what I made with my supplies from SpiegelMomScraps Shop. I want to start by telling you that I did my best to make things that WOULDN"T photograph!! LOL! I got a Fuse Tool this year when Jody got them in at the shop, and It's really made itself known over this holiday season! I LOVE this thing!! I decided my project for the hope would be some simple but lovely shaker tags to go on little gifts for my co-workers. The trick with these tags is to get a photo with little to no glare... I think I did ok. I used lots of different things from the shop and combined it with my xmas stash which currently includes rub-ons from the Shimelle Christmas Collection and lots of the Get Happy Christmas Collection from 2014 by Gossamer Blue. I already know that the EZ Grand Runner will attach these to the gifts I have to go with them, I just need to get them together! Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope I have inspired you.

Supplies used from SMS
Fuse Tool
Medium Shipping Tags
Bakers Twine (It comes in Assorted Colors but I used the Red and White)
Sequins in the follwing colors and mixes:
Blizzard, Poppin' Pink Flurries, Rockin' Red Stardust, Gold Stardust, Holiday Happiness, Cinnamon and Sugar, Fairytale

Hannukah oh Hannukah 2015!

So far this has been a lovely holiday season. I finally got my Hanukkah Cards out to family. And we have been busy eating jelly donuts, lighting candles and having latkes!

I was given the opportunity to work with the Hanukkah Special Edition kit from Clique Kits, and these are the cards I made:

LOVE these papers, had to use layers and tags on all these cards!

That American Crafts Vellum is yummy, it does have a number 9 on it, but I just covered it up!

This one is my favorite card! I used the Lawn Fawn Stamp with some Ranger embossing ink both in Patina and Gold. Really enjoying the gold twine, and there is a full pack so I have plenty more to play with. I'm going to print out some of my favorite candle lighting pics to go with the leftovers. I don't have any full sheets, but tons of stuff is left!

Welcome to the SpiegelMomScraps Holiday Hop 2015!

Thanks for stopping by today! I'm so excited to share my shaker card with you! I've been hoarding a frozen/fairtale sequin mix from this summer so I could make an awesome Hanukkah card! I was so excited when I saw those new cork stars! Sigh, so chunky and lovely... and I'm going to mod some of them to use in another project so be sure and check back!

I used a variety of white, blue and white sequins along with the cork stars. The shaker is really the focus of my card, I didn't feel like it needed much more! Be sure and stop by all the blogs on the hop, it's the perfect length for a during the week hop! Use code Charity15 for a discount at the shop! I'm linking to all the sequins HERE and the cork stars HERE but be sure and check everything out, she has the best stuff for making your gifts extra special!

Tapestry in a Planner, welcome to the Pep Rally!

This is a very special time of year for me. Thanksgiving has been my favorite holiday for many years.  It was always a time when family got together and there was everyone's favorite food (ahem, dessert) and no pressure for anything except to take home leftovers. I cut into this lovely kit to decorate my planner this month. I LOVE the happy gleaming gold accents! Check this out!

I believe in Rainbows

My instagram has been really busy this month with the Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge. I've been having tons of fun, but really haven't made many projects, just practicing my coloring. But last night I finally got around to making a page from a photo that's been waiting on me. I started out by gathering up some Shimelle items I've had hoarded (and I've recently picked up some new stuff recently). I knew before getting started that I wanted to use that rainbow heart paper, it's vellum and so lovely! I tried it out on several other background papers and while I loved it on lots of things, it needed something to keep those hearts from drowning on another pattern and white cardstock just was not cutting it. So I found this awesome specialty paper covered in gold hearts along the bottom. The Keller paper is that awesome paper with bright hearts in pink on pink from the original collection, but on the back there is a section that is a soft gray so that is what I used to emphasize the heart vellum. I love how it looks, especially because where it isn't backing you can see the smaller heart print on my background paper behind it. I matted the photo with the paper called Frappe from the True Stories collection, the reverse side of this lovely navy print has cameras on it. I combined stickers from both collections and used some of the cut apart sheet from True Stories called Latte for page accents. I puzzled for a bit over what to put my journalling on, then I just took some white cardstock and cut out a half a heart shape and used Fossilized Amber Distress ink to make it a lovely yellowy color, I used water to distress the ink a bit, then journalled on my block. Those lovely red glitter Thickers in the Fitzgerald Font combined with tile letters from the Shimelle Collection stickers make my title. I really love how this turned out.

I'm editing a video on pulling this layout together so stay tuned to my youtube channel :)!

September 2015 Pep Rally Featuring : Capture

Loved working with the Cocoa Daisy Kit this month! This is the first layout I've finished, but I've been working in my planner with this kit as well and really love the paper and embellies!!! I also love the combo of sequins that was included in the kits. I got some new stencils recently while I was on vacation. So I added some stenciling to the background of this awesome woodgrain. I also used gelatos in two shades of pink to the black crepe paper that was included in the kit. I've done this before on a layout from the Clique Into Color kit/crop and LOVED the effect. I was so excited to see the crepe paper in this months kit as it's a texture that I really like using! I hope you enjoy today's layout, I usually crop my photos closer but I've been working up to the edges and I like the detail included so I cropped around it today. Have fun seeing what everyone created, and if you subscribe to the kits, you should be a part of the Pep Rally too! If you were just stopping by my blog today be sure and hop along, you could win the September Kit for yourself!

Quick Gift Packaging using items from SpiegelMomScraps!

Wow, it's been too long! I've had a bit of illness and then a lovely and wonderful VACATION which was sorely needed!!! I hope you have all been having a lovely summer, mine has been different. But my vacation with DH was LOVELY and I am now a bit refreshed and ready to go again.
I brought back some candy cigarettes for my co-workers (they are all over 21 so I'm not influencing minors). And decided they needed to be dressed up a bit to be gifted.

Clique Into Color Layout #2

This was inspired by a sketch created by Clique Kits design team member Kat Benjamin... and I really went to town with paint and watercolors. That heart print was originally black and white but I used my cheapo set of watercolors to change that, the other scraps are cut from papers in the kit as well, and the background I painted with the Jillibean Soup paint that was included with the kit.

Mine doesn't match the sketch exactly but I really LoVE how this layout came out! It's very wrinkly with all the wet media, but that's ok, it'll flatten out in my album over time, it was really hard to photograph without losing the edges... so I cropped weirdly.

Thanks for looking!

Clique into Color Layouts

Clique Kits had a fantastic Facebook Crop where they posted challenges... they even sold out of their kit that they created just for the event. Everyone is welcome to participate and you have until August 24th to upload your layouts.

The first one I completed was mostly inspired by everyone's work, it didn't really fit any of the challenges:

I was able to snag one of the kits for the event, it featured papers from Bella Blvd and Echo Park. I added a set of Gelatos from the Clique Store to go with and some of those AWESOME Bella Blvd Bows and stickers. That heart was from one of the exclusive cards that came with the kit, it was just white and black, I Gelatoed it to look Ombre... I also colored the background with some Gelatos.  I really love how this turned out and can't wait to share my other layout... look for it on Tuesday 8/18!

Planner Process Video and Stuff

So I've really been enjoying using my current Clique Kit for my planner... who knew??? I have been really inspired watching the RESET girl videos over at the youtube land and she has helped me out with my problems stamping on my planner pages... just add pretty paper on top. Wish I could be that smart on my own. I was trying things like Gesso and then getting sad because it wasn't working out just right. I may still have to print my own pages... but this is working for me right now.

More Ambrosia Planning

SERIOUSLY loving this kit in my planner, I have the opposite page sorted and I'm going to try and film it this weekend. I finished my finals this week, so I hope to have more crafty filmy time the next few weeks!!! Wish me luck! Clique Kits is having an online crop this weekend so check out their Facebook Group and play along with the challenges!

Here is my latest page, using mostly the Ambrosia kit from Clique Kits and a few bits from my stash.

Ambrosia Planning

So I just got my Clique Kits August Kit... Ambrosia. It's finals time for me (ugh, still so many to go) and I really wanted to cut into this yummy kit! So I did some work in my planner. I'm finally FINALLY starting to get some results I'm happier with. Thanks to inspiration from the Reset Girl I have learned if I want to stamp in my planner, I just need to slap some paper down inside!

The page on the left is getting there, but the page on the right I LOVE!! I am staying somewhere that isn't my house this week, and I forgot to bring my paper trimmer, but I love how it turned out anyway!

I made a process video for the right hand page, but I got a phone call while filming and just discovered that :( so no video for the page. Sorry.

And a haul video to show off my kit!

Birthday with the Carpe Diem Kit

I still have a lot of this kit left on my desk, and I needed a "quick" birthday card. So utilized some scrap strips from my last layout, made a messy background with my favorite Mama Elephant Doily stamp on a white cardbase using Charcoal Mid-Tone Ink by Hero Arts.

I used the tiny attacher to attach my strips to one another and 3L adhesive foam to attach the strips to my card. The letter stickers are from Jillibean Soup.

I think it turned out pretty cute!

Encouragement

Sometimes you need a card to kind of substitute for a hug, and let someone know they are doing great, and you are there for them. I found the perfect supplies in my July Clique Kit:

Thursday, July 23, 2015

Happy Birthday, You're old.

Something I am forever lamenting is that I don't have enough birthday stamps. That's not really true, I'm just not usually inspired to make a card that just says Happy Birthday. That being said, DH told me his brother's birthday is coming up, so I decided to use a fun set of specifically birthday stamps from Paper Smooches I love the funny "you're old, embrace it" stamp and I think it can't be used often enough! I had some papers and scraps of paper from Pinkfresh Studios Up in the Clouds collection that I've been needing to use, and my Hero Arts Ombre Inks were on the table, so I set to work. I did grab my favorite Say Cheese stamp set by Lawn Fawn (I have probably used this die so much it was a FANTASTIC buy!) I stamped the polaroid, then used distress ink in vintage photo to vintagey it up. I backed it with Pinkfresh Studio Paper (that paper I used in the background was a scrap and it reminds me of birthday candles), then I stamped the sentiments, I trimmed out the Happy Birthday Sentiment and popped it up on foam adhesive. I trimmed another piece of paper to fit my cardbase and inked around the edges. Then I decided to use some glittery washi from Pinkfresh Studios a year ago to "tape" down the polaroid. It was really a quick little card.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Thank You Tag Card

Sometimes you just need a little card... and what better to make it out of than some Medium Shipping Tags from SpiegelMomScraps! I love those new Ombre Ink pads from Hero Arts, and I have two of them right now, so I got to work making this tag:

I used a bit of Ribbon  and a Tiny Clip at the top for a touch of added embellishment. I think the ribbon looks great with the lighter portion of the ink on the tag. When you go buy your own supplies at SpiegelMomScraps be SURE and use Code : CHARITY15 for a 15% discount on your total order!
I used a little bag from V's Sweet Ideas as my envelope and the stamps are all from this set of Waffle Flower Crafts stamps.
I LOVE how this turned out!

I filmed a process video as I was making this little card.
